Salento is one of the regions in Italy where the winemaking tradition has deep roots, since here quality wine has been produced for 3000 years. Salento, like Puglia, is known today for its excellent wines and its extra virgin olive oil, in addition to its great gastronomic tradition.

Facts that already in that historical period meant that the Salento was considered the Winery of Italy, while the wines of Salento had great admirers in illustrious characters such as Pliny the Elder and Horace.
