Lucio Leuci is the unique Winery in Salento able to produce יינות כשרים Kosher for Passover and also יינות מבושל Mevushal wines boast thanks to the Orthodox Union – Badatz Beit Yosef and Rottenberg certification.
Kosher wine must respect the dietary rules established by the Torah, interpreted by exegesis in the Talmud and codified in the Shulkan Aruk. Kosher foods, however, are not only synonymous with a meal suitable for consumption by practitioners of the Jewish religion, but also foods considered more reliable, controlled and of better quality.
Mevushal wines is the boiled wine that can be opened and served even by people who do not adhere to the Jewish religion.
Kosher wines, are the ideal choice also for vegetarians, vegans, for those suffering from food intolerances or for those who simply want to be sure of eating a safe and healthy product. The reason is certainly due to the obligation to use only certified raw materials suitable for the production of kosher wine and great attention to hygiene and external contamination that the constant controls at every stage of the production process guarantee with the final release of the stringent Kosher certification.

The Leuci family has been operating in the wine sector since 1924, so much so that the name of the winery is a due tribute to the hard work carried out by Lucio Leuci, the grandfather of the current owners, as well as brothers, Francesco and Lucio. Today, the passion and dedication of the grandchildren mean that the company is definitively oriented towards quality productions, distinguished by marks attesting to the typicality of the land of origin.
In 2013, the encounter with Jewish culture and the encouragement received by Rabbi Bahbout led us to dedicate a small but careful selection of grapes, coming from our lands, to the production of Kosher for Passover and Mevushal wines, submitting our traditional protocols to the careful control of the OU, in the person of Rabbi Hochman.
