Askos is the name of our project dedicated by Masseria li Veli to the research, selection and enhancement of the heritage of the autochthonous Apulian vines in danger of extinction. The name of this wine derives from the term askos, the Greek “decanter” of the 1st century BC. Askos rosato is a wine produced from Susumaniello grapes grown in the province of Brindisi, an area of choice for the production of this ancient grape variety.

The grapes are harvested manually in wooden boxes in the middle of September and then vinified in steel at controlled temperature. The wine finishes its preparation with a 4-month aging in steel and is then left to rest in the bottle.

Askos susumaniello rosato has a soft pink color, crystal and bright and has elegant, persistent and aromatic notes of strawberry and cranberry on the nose. It is light in the mouth with waves of flavor along the palate. Sapid finish with a touch of acidity.
