KALEMA Negroamaro Salento IGP is an extraordinary red wine produced by Azienda Agricola Fabiana in San Giorgio Jonico (Taranto_Puglia/Italy). Produced from Negroamaro grapes grown in the Faggiano countryside near the Ionian sea. The vineyards are located about 100 m above sea level with very high average temperatures and particularly low rainfall. The soils are medium-clayey.

The vineyard planted in part with the Apulian sapling system and partly espalier is composed of an average density of about 4500 plants per hectare with an average age of the vines ranging from 20 to 40 years. The vineyard offers an average yield of about 120 quintals per hectare. The grapes are harvested in the first ten days of September, and after the harvest by hand, the selection of the best bunches, and the destemming, the grapes begin maceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature of about 20 ° C for several 10 days. Malolactic fermentation and ageing in oak barrels for about 6 months follows.

KALEMA Negroamaro is an intense red wine with garnet reflections. The nose alternates fruity sensations of black cherry and blackberry, sweet-spicy notes due to ageing in the Tonneau. In the mouth, it is soft and balanced with a firm but never intrusive tannin. Persistent finish.
