LAMO Ottavianello Ostuni DOP is a red wine produced by Tenute Rubino di Brindisi (Puglia/Italy). It is unique red wine of its kind, a rarity in the vineyards of Southern Italy with a production limited to about 4000 bottles per year. Ottavianello grape forgotten for half a century and today restored to its former glory thanks to the contribution of the Tenute Rubino winery, as happened for the Susumaniello vineyard another enological rediscovery of this winery. LAMO is appreciated for its unobtrusive structure and for its gentle but firm character.

LAMO is made from grapes harvested in the last decade of September from vines planted in 1994 with a yield of 80 quintals per hectare obtained from 5000 plants. Once harvested, the grapes are processed at temperatures between 22-24 ° C in steel tanks. Maceration is short, about 7 days, at a controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation is complete. Then the wine rests for 5-6 months in steel and, subsequently, again for 1-2 months in the bottle.

This Ottavianello shows a ruby red colour of medium intensity with evident purple reflections. On the nose, you can feel floral scents alternating with soft spicy and herbaceous scents. The olfactory picture is completed by fruity scents, such as black cherry and pomegranate. On the palate, it is delicate, fine and very particular. The tannins and alcohol remain in the background, well blended with the rest of the organoleptic characteristics.
