Leucos is a white wine made from 100% Muscat grapes produced by Cantine Petrelli. This wine has a strong identity character and is the classic and one of the few white wines that were produced in the past in Puglia. Unlike the classic Apulian muscat wines, Leucos is not a sweet wine, but has a sugar residue that travels around 9 g / l therefore very close to dry white wines produced from aromatic blends.

The soils from which the grapes come are located at an altitude of about 32 m asl, 25 km from the sea with a medium-textured soil, while the training system used is the spurred cordon with a density of vines equal to about 5000 / has with a final grape yield of 60 quintals. The grapes are harvested in the second decade of September and then undergo a classic white vinification in steel with temperature control.

Leucos is presented in the glass with an intense golden yellow color. The aromas are intense, and recall typical flowers of the Mediterranean scrub, but also honey, and fresh fruit such as peaches and apricots. In the mouth it is almost creamy, enveloping, with a light but well perceptible acid note. The sugar is barely perceived as it is well dissolved by a good alcohol content and in the end it is persistent and correctly balanced.

Pairing: Try it with grilled prawns and spaghetti with bottarga. It can accompany the classic Lecce pasticciotto at the end of the meal.
