Liranu is the dialectal name of Leverano, a town where the Zecca family took root 5 centuries ago and where the winery and all the vineyards owned by the company are still found today.

Liranu is obtained from Negroamaro grapes, the main grape of Salento, capable of giving life to reds of exceptional vigor and longevity and rosés of great thickness and intensity. Lirano is produced from grapes produced with spurred cordon and Guyot farming techniques in the Leverano countryside on alluvial soils with a medium mix and areas tending to limestone. The vineyard of about 5 hectares from which the grapes are harvested has a planting density: 5,000 / 5,700 plants per hectare with a final yield per hectare of 60 quintals of grapes.

The vinification is carried out starting from the classic destemming followed by a soft pressing. The grapes are then macerated for 8-10 days at a temperature of 25 ° C. Then fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Maturation in 30 hl oak barrels. and evolution in underground cement tanks coated with food epoxy resins.

Liranu shows a ruby red color with garnet reflections, the nose is manifested by a rich bouquet of small red fruits, and in the mouth it is soft and harmonious with ripe tannins in a rich and well-structured body.

Pairing: Excellent with rich first courses, roasted or grilled red meats and aged cheeses.
