Negroamaro is a wine produced by Masseria Altemura obtained from grapes grown on its estate, which extends within the production area of the Primitivo di Manduria DOC, in the countryside of Santa Susanna, and collects in one place a ancient Masseria of the sixteenth century, the cellar, designed according to the principles of bio-architecture, and the wonderful vineyards that surround it.
The harvest is carried out starting from the third decade of September and the harvested grapes are gently pressed and de-stemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 28 ° -30 ° C for 7 days, followed by a maceration on the skins for about 10 days. The wine ages for 12 months in large Slavonian barrels and ages for a further period in the bottle.
This negroamaro has a beautiful deep ruby red color. Its perfume presents notes of blackberry, cherry and ripe red fruit, followed by a nice spiciness, in which coffee, chocolate and licorice stand out. The flavor is savory and round, balanced and very pleasant. It stands out for its intensity and persistence.
Pairings: Suitable for accompanying grilled red meats including horses, mature, spicy and blue cheeses.
