NERO IGP Salento of Conti Zecca is a red wine blend of two varieties of 70% Negroamaro and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The vines are grown in the production area of ​​Leverano and Salice Salentino (Lecce_Puglia/Italy). The nature of the soil is of alluvial origin, medium mixture with areas tending to calcareous and the training system used is spurred cordon with a planting density of 4,500 / 5,000 plants per hectare. The yield per hectare 60 quintals of grapes.

NERO is produced after harvesting the blend with a destemming and soft pressing. Following fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and maceration for 15 and more days at a temperature of 28-30 ° C. The wine ages 18 months in French wooden barrels and then 12 months in 30 Hl oak barrels, completing the refinement for 6 months in the bottle.

NERO is a wine with a marked ageing capacity. It has an intense ruby ​​red colourer with pleasing garnet reflections. It presents a bouquet and an aroma of small red fruits and spices, light hints of vanilla and liquorice. In the mouth, it is soft and harmonious with ripe tannins in a rich and well-structured body, with a finish that is very persistent.
