NONNA CECCA Primitivo Salento IGP is an extraordinary red wine produced by Azienda Agricola Fabiana of San Giorgio Jonico (Taranto_Puglia/Italy). NONNA CECCA is produced from Primitivo grapes grown in the countryside of Faggiano, near the Ionian sea. The grapes are grown in vineyards at about 100 m above sea level with very high average temperatures and particularly low rainfall. The soils are medium-clayey.

The vineyard is bred in part with the Apulian sapling system and partly espalier with an average density of about 5000 vines per hectare with an average age of the vines of 30 years. The vineyard offers an average yield of about 70 quintals per hectare. The grapes are harvested in the last 10 days of September. After the late withering on the plant and after harvesting by hand, the selection of the best bunches and the destemming takes place with a Thermo controlled maceration, followed by drawing off and soft pressing at the end of fermentation.

NONNA CECCA Primitivo is a very intense ruby red wine with violet reflections, an intense, fruity aroma with notes of plum and cherries. The nose is spicy with hints of rosemary and vanilla. A full-bodied wine, soft and harmonious, easy to drink and pleasant.

Pairing

Perfect combination with robust dishes, red meats and game and hard cheeses.
