PIETRAFINITA is a great red wine produced by Feudi di Guagnano winery.
For this wine grapes are used that come from Apulian saplings fifty years old and older, which produce small bunches.
PIETRAFINITA remains in the memory since the first taste. The name of this wine derives from “pietrafinita”, that is the boundary stones, stones that have remained for centuries in the same place where our ancestors placed them in order to define the boundary of their vineyards.
The grapes come from vineyards located in the area of Maruggio / Sava (Taranto_Puglia) and the harvest is done manually in early September. Small bunches of Primitivo are placed in single-layer wooden crates for drying that lasts about 30 days. At the end of the withering period, the grapes come with a gentle destemming crushing. The fermentation of the grapes lasts about two weeks. The wine that is obtained ages for 12 months in French oak barrels and then for 6 months in bottle. Complex and elegant on the nose with sensations of black cherry and liquorice. Endless cocoa and wild berries in the mouth.
