PRIMITIVO Salento IGP of Vecchia Torre winery is a red wine that will amaze you with its power, structure, body and elegance. It is an extremely powerful wine, but with a grace and a softness that you do not expect in a bottle of this price. A wine to try throughout the meal to brighten up your evenings with friends or large party dinners.
The wine is produced with grapes from vineyards located around Leverano on alluvial, deep, medium-textured soils with areas that tend to be calcareous. The yield per hectare is 70-80 quintals of grapes and the vines are cultivated with the Apulian sapling training system with a plant density of 4500-5000 plants per hectare. Wine is vinified after destemming of the grapes (without crushing) with the must which ferments in contact with the skins for 6-7 days at a temperature of 24-25 ° C and the vinification follows with a period of aging of the wine partly in oak barriques and partly in steel. It is a wine that has an aging capacity: 3 and more years according to harvest.
PRIMITIVO Salento IGP Vecchia Torre has an intense ruby red color, ample and persistent aroma with perceptible hints of plum and cherry. On the palate, it is dry, warm and balanced.
