Serre is a red wine produced with 100% Susumaniello grapes, an ancient native Apulian grape variety with a strange name, susumaniello means somarello, a small donkey. The name probably derives from the fact that in the first years of life this vine has a high production of grapes, such as to seem as charged as a donkey. The harvest takes place manually in the middle of September. Subsequent maceration in thermo-regulated horizontal rotary silos for about 14 days. Here the wine completes the alcoholic fermentation at a maximum temperature of 20 ° C. Aging in French oak barrels for 6 months where it completes the malolactic fermentation.
Characterized by a deep ruby red color, deep with intense blue reflections. It presents fragrances that explode in hints of red fruits, jam and light graphite. On the palate it releases a splendid balance between ripe fruit and mineral solidity. It has a full-bodied structure with intense hints of ripe fruit, plum and blackberries over all. Soft and warm with well-polished tannins. To be served at a temperature of 16-18 ° C.
