The wines of the Antica Masseria del Sigillo take their name from the 1950s cellar that Claudio Quarta bought in Guagnano, and from which the Apulian productive and entrepreneurial adventure started. From that magical place, later the production of the Antica Masseria del Sigillo line was transferred to the new Tenute Eméra winery, immersed in the vineyards close to the Ionian coast.

Primo Sigillo Negroamaro IGP Salento Claudio Quarta Vignaiolo wine is produced from Negroamaro grapes obtained from spurred cordon vineyards on medium-textured soils with the presence of silica, clay and sand and abundant skeleton (stones, pebbles and gravel) inside of the Tenute Eméra farm, between the Lizzano and Pulsano marinas. The yield per hectare is 150 quintals

The grapes are harvested in the II-III decade of September with a mechanical harvest and are immediately put to macerate and ferment in cement tanks for about 15 days. The extraction of the color and of the polyphenolic and aromatic components is favored by daily pumping over of the liquid fraction on the marc cap. The wine finishes its aging with a passage in second / third generation barriques for 8-10 months.

Sigillo Primo presents itself in the glass with a beautiful intense ruby red color with rich fruit notes and a soft and balanced taste.

Pairings: first courses, medium-long cured meats and cheeses, red meats.
