VARALE Negroamaro IGP Salento Cantine Leuci - SalentoWineShop

Varale is a great red wine obtained mainly from Negroamaro grapes from selected vineyards in the countryside of Guagnano in the center of Salento. The plants from which the grapes used for the production of this wine are obtained have an average age of 40 years and are bred with the traditional and ancient Alberello Pugliese cultivation system with an average yield per hectare of about 60q.

The harvest takes place in the first decade of October through a manual collection and selection. The vinification following the harvest of the grapes starts with the classic crushing and destemming, with a maceration in contact with the skins for 8-10 days. Finally we proceed to draining in a soft press and all the operations carried out take place with the control of the temperature of the must, which always remains around 25°C. The wine finishes its journey first with an aging In French oak barrels for 6 months and then with a rest in the bottle of about 3 months.

Varale is presented in the glass with an intense ruby red color, the nose is fragrant, rightly intense with aromas of exotic spices such as cloves, roasted coffee and tobacco.
