Visellio is the Primitivo of Salento produced by Tenute Rubino. The grapes used to produce this splendid wine were planted in 1992 and come from the production area in the province of Brindisi. The land is located 100 meters above sea level and has a medium mixture of stones. The training system is spurred cordon and the plants are about 4000 / hectare with a yield per hectare.
The harvest takes place in the first ten days of September, the wine is fermented in steel tanks with a maceration of 18 days, at a controlled temperature. A malolactic fermentation follows, carried out entirely and the aging is carried out for 8 months, in French oak barrels, and the wine finishes its aging in bottle for 12 months.
The wine is of an impenetrable and brilliant ruby color, and presents itself to the nose with a range of aromas and sensations of a finesse that is difficult to overcome, which opens up evoking hints of plum in spirit, currant and blueberry jam, cloves and nutmeg, which give way and alternate with hints of star anise, violet and licorice. On the palate it is revealed energetic and fascinating at the same time, seductive by temperament and vitality, fresh even in the powerful manifestation of the fruit, which finds its balance in the mature and silky tannins and in the calibrated acid component. Visellio is an authentic champion, a warm and complex territorial wine, powerful and with a warm, wide and ethereal extraction force, a splendid expression of a renewed and modern enology that has its firm and safe roots in history.
