Launch of the third edition exposition of rose wine Roséxpo scheduled 3 to 5 June 2016, and which will be held in the beautiful location of the Castello Carlo V in Lecce. The capital of Salento will host a major event in order for explein to general public all of the shades of rose wine.
The rosé wine is a traditional protagonist of the Salento food table for centuries, and it is in our land that probably reside her the most ancient and noble origins, with evidence of their consumption even dating back to the XVIII° century. Although its consumption in Italy continues to rise among the general public, however, it is still small when compared to other country as France, United States and Germany, and compared to consumption in Italy of white and red of the most famous red wines.
Salento is critical for the rosé wine also because during the Second World War in 1943, was born Five Roses, the most famous product of the company Leone De Castris and the first rosé wine bottled and sold in Italy. During the last war, the rosy Salento Leone de Castris “The Five Roses” is exported to the United States. This wine takes its name from a district in Salice Salentino fiefdom called “Five Roses”.
On the benches of the prestigious event with the help of AIS sommelier then you can sample the best of Salento rosé wine labels, labels of the best Italian rosé wines including the famous Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo and a selection of international rosé labels including some from French region of Provence. There will be over 150 Italian labels and 46 foreign ones from 14 different territories, giving the opportunity for beginners, experts and fans of rosé can also compare the production of Salento excellence with different realities of rosé in the world.
