The Agricole Vallone company was founded in 1934 thanks to the passion of Franco Vallone, who died at the age of 39 in 1979. The Vallone family owned many lands in the Salento area and Franco Vallone had the foresight to believe in agricultural entrepreneurship and start cultivation of the same.
After the death of Franco, the sisters Vittoria and Maria Teresa Vallone made their brother’s mission their own. Today, the Vallone sisters are known as the most important vine growers of Salento.
While the operational centre of the company is based in Lecce, the Vallone estates are located in the area of Brindisi with an area of 660 hectares.
In the countryside of Brindisi is the Tenuta Flaminio with 310 hectares of vineyards. Tenuta Castelserranova is in Carovigno with 312 hectares of vineyards. In the countryside of San Pancrazio Salentino, there is instead the Tenuta Iore with 40 hectares of vineyards.
In Brindisi, in the Tenuta Flaminio, there is the vinification cellar. While in Copertino there is a cellar for ageing and bottling.
Despite having a production capacity of 1.4 million bottles, the Agricole Vallone company produces, to date, only 620 thousand. The choice to bottle only excellent products, in fact, led to bottling only this quantity of wine, while the remaining part was sold as bulk wine.
Graticcia is the flagship wine of this winery.
