Masseria Li Veli in Cellino San Marco (Brindisi_Puglia/Italy) was founded in 1999.
“Masseria Li Veli”, 33,000 square meters of extension, was built at the end of the 800 for the will of the Marquis Antonio de Viti de Marco (1858-1943). The Marquis was an economist from Lecce of international renown, a university professor and Deputy of the Kingdom of Italy. The Masseria Li Veli soon became a wine company that was a model throughout the South. In the 60s the Masseria fell into disuse and was abandoned.
In 1999 the Falvo Family bought the farm and brought it back to life. The Falvo family come to Salento after 40 years of winemaking experience in Tuscany as producers of Avignonesi wines from Montepulciano. The Masseria today has 3,750 square meters of offices, accommodation area, wine-making, ageing and storage rooms. It also houses the splendid open barrel cellar, which contains 400 French oak barrels.
The owned land, about 33 hectares, is cultivated with Apulian sapling with native vines such as Negroamaro, Susumaniello, Black Malvasia, Aleatico.
