The Sanchirico company is located in Salice Salentino in the province of Lecce (Puglia_Italy) and takes the name of the ancient Sanchirico farm that hosts it. In 1908 Vincenzo De Marco bought the farm with the aim of qualitatively improving the production of bulk wine that he sold in Tuscany, Piedmont and France. Since 2006 the company has been run by Gianluca Dell’Antoglietta, a great-nephew of De Marco and a direct descendant of Francesco Dell’Antoglietta, a wine producer in Fragagnano’s territory in 1560.
The Sanchirico farm stands at the centre of an estate of 120 hectares, surrounded by vineyards. In 2008 the new cellar was built, renovating an ancient building, exactly 1 century after the one created by De Marco. Inside, the most modern technologies support the production processes linked to ancient family traditions.
The vineyards of the estate are found in the countryside of Salice Salentino. The main grape is the Negromaro with 40 hectares of espalier. In addition to this, there are other white grape varieties and vines of international varieties.
