The Schola Sarmenti winery is located in Nardò, in the province of Lecce (Puglia/Italy). Here the Marra and Calabrese families gave birth to this winery in 1999.
The winery is an old nineteenth-century wine factory restored and recovered. The ground floor is characterized by vaulted ceilings made of Lecce stone. The underground barrel room was built thanks to the recovery of the ancient wine-making tanks that follow one after the other.
Vineyards are cultivated using the traditional Apulian sapling method and are over 80 years old. The cultivated vines are those of Negroamaro and Primitivo, a native of Salento, alongside those of Fiano and Chardonnay.
Schola Sarmenti currently produces 12 labels: 9 red, 2 white and 1 rosé.
Prized, award-winning wines from the winery are DICIOTTO, a red Salento IGP wine. Primitive 100% obtained with grapes from 85-year-old trees.
NAUNA red wine Salento IGP made with grapes from 50/55-year-old trees.
NERIO Riserva Nardò DOP red wine, made from grapes from 45-year-old trees.
CUBARDI red wine Salento IGP made with grapes from 65-year-old trees.
