Tenute Rubino is located in Brindisi (Puglia/Italy) in the upper Salento. From the exclusive activity of winegrowers in the 60s and 70s, it is today one of the greatest producers of excellent wines of Salento.
In the mid-1980s Tommaso Rubino, convinced of the quality of the wines of Salento, began to give life to his project. Points to the acquisition of agricultural estates on which to plant the vines for the production and bottling of their wines.
In 1999 Luigi Rubino (son of Tommaso) and his wife Romina Leopardi, create the Tenute Rubino brand. The new company combines the quality of the product and its territoriality with modern production facilities.
In 2000 the current company headquarters was inaugurated, a technologically advanced 8,000 square meter winery in the centre of Brindisi and equidistant from its own vineyards.
Today the company has over 270 hectares of vineyards distributed among the 4 estates in the Brindisi area: Jaddico, Marmorelle, Uggio and Punta Aquila. The 4 estates, located in different places for soil, sunshine and ventilation, allow obtaining different blends, expression of the characteristics of the territory.
The vines are indigenous of Salento, Primitivo and Negroamaro. The recovery project of the rare grape, the Susumaniello stands out. Alongside the Bianco d’Alessano, the Minutolo and the Ottavianello with the project of “Le Riscoperte”.
Tenute Rubino produces about 1,200,000 bottles and exports 70% of its product to 23 countries worldwide.
