The Vecchia Torre winery is located in Leverano (Lecce_Puglia/Italy).
44 members led by Dr Antonio Biasi, in 1959 founded the cooperative that today has 1240 members conferring grapes and about 1,100 hectares of vines.
At the beginning of 2019, the renovation of the old barrel cellar was started, dug into the rock and positioned below the winery’s production area. Here, the old concrete cisterns (formerly used for storing wine) have been restored and will welcome the new French oak barrels.
The production is dedicated to DOP and IGP wines that are subject to strict regulations and use native vines of Salento, such as Negroamaro and Primitivo. Next, to these, other vines are also cultivated such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah.
Today the winery produces about 2.500.000 bottles and exports its products to 9 foreign markets.
