Story and Winemaking
The Copertino Riserva is the emblem of Copertino’s winemaking tradition. The Negroamaro grapes (with Malvasia Nera and Montepulciano) come from old 40-year-old alberello vines. Winemaking includes a long maceration of 7/8 days, but the true distinctive feature is the very long aging process. The wine matures for almost a decade in contact with the large underground vitrified cement tanks, a technique that favors a slow and complex evolution, giving the wine its typical ethereal amplitude and mature tones.
