F NEGROAMARO Salento I.G.P. of Cantine San Marzano is a red wine of great quality. Produced with grapes from selected vineyards in the district of Monte La Conca, between the territory of the municipality of San Marzano and that of Francavilla Fontana (Brindisi_Puglia/Italy). Grapes chosen among the oldest vineyards of Negramaro in Salento in the area indicated as Feudi di San Marzano of which F is the symbol.
The soils of the vineyards are made up of the residual red earth, with a fine texture and generally with a calcareous substrate and sparse rocky outcrops and the famous red tint of these soils derives from an intense presence of iron oxides. The thermal values characterize a rather warm environment, with very low annual rainfall and very high-temperature ranges. This condition has a beneficial influence on the quality of the grapes.
The grapes are harvested in the last week of September, and the vinification begins with the grapes that are manually harvested in small baskets. Maceration then follows 18 days on 80% of the mass, 25 days on 20% (with indigenous yeasts selected in the vineyard on selected material of different types). Temperature controlled fermentation at 24-26 ° C. F NEGROAMARO is aged for 12 months in French and Caucasian oak barriques. The resulting wine is a wine that keeps its organoleptic characteristics intact for 7 years.
F NEGROAMARO shows a very deep and deep purple red color. The scent is rich and complex, with notes of spices, berries, and cherry jam. A full-bodied wine, soft and harmonious, rich in noble tannins, with a pleasantly persistent finish.
