CARATTERE TERRIBILE Salento IGP  is a red wine, produced by the Cantina Terribile in Copertino (Lecce_Puglia/Italy). Blend produced from Primitivo and Negroamaro grapes.

A wine with a strong identity, it is surprising for its powerful and decisive aromas, and for its elegant balance. Fruity notes, due to the Primitivo, make it absolutely pleasant to the nose and in the mouth. The Negroamaro part offers sobriety and composure. The result is a wine that knows how to fully express all the best characteristics of the 2 most important Salento’s varieties. Quite high alcohol content, but not excessively perceived in the mouth. An important wine for every day and throughout the meal, it knows how to make itself drink very easily, giving pleasant evenings in the company of excellent meat dishes.

Winemaking of the CARATTERE TERRIBILE  wine starts with the collection of Primitivo grapes obtained from Alberello Pugliese plants of more than 20 years coming from the Manduria area. The harvest of the grapes takes place towards the end of August. Then follows fermentation at a controlled temperature and ageing for 10 months in French oak barrels. The assembly is concluded with the addition of 40% of the wine made from Negroamaro grapes from Apulian sapling around 40 years old, grown in the San Donaci area. Finally, CARATTERE TERRIBILE  rests in the bottle for a few months.
