Nerìo by Schola Sarmenti is among the 100 Best Wines in the World by Wine Spectator. Nerìo has the DOC wine and is produced with Negroamaro and Black Malvasia grapes. A wine that will certainly fascinate and conquer you. During its production, the grapes are harvested by hand and delicately placed in small ventilated boxes to preserve their integrity. Subsequently, they are further selected in the cellar on a modern sorting table to ensure the use of only the best bunches. Therefore, this is an extremely refined wine in the quality of the starting grapes and in the cellar processing.

Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation and then ageing for 8 months in French oak tonneaux, medium toasting; then, 10 months of further refinement in the bottle. Nerìo by Schola Sarmenti is a wine that can easily pass the test of time, even evolving over 10/15 years. A bottle of extreme quality and absolutely sought after at a very low price.

Nerìo by Schola Sarmenti is a ruby red wine with light garnet hues. Intrigued with the fruit, it fascinates with its spicy notes, intrigues for a vague sweetness just mentioned. Its taste is aromatic, vegetal, gently envelops the mouth, leaving an aftertaste of overripe fruit, absolutely pleasant. The wine that perhaps we would all like to drink to let ourselves be moved at every sip.

Nerìo _ Opinions of Experts

Nerìo 2015 according to Alexander Peartree, Tasting Director by WineEnthusiast: “Opaque ruby in the glass, this dense red offers aromas of liquor-soaked dark cherries, anisette and sweet oak tones on the forward nose. The palate is supple in feel, with a rich red cherry flavor that’s ensconced in warm spice tones. There’s a good grip to the palate in fine, integrated tannins and lifted acidity. It certainly isn’t bashful in oak, but there’s plenty of lush fruit to fill it out—a style that many might enjoy.

Nerio Rosso Riserva Nardo ‘Doc 2012 according to Enrico Malgi, on LucianoPignataro.it: “The bottle in question, organic method, is unquestionably one of the best in all of Salento, the result of a blend of 80% Negroamaro and a balance of black malvasia. The beautiful ruby red color shimmering in the glass is symptomatic. The olfactory profile is decidedly intense and intriguing, characterized by variegated aromas. First of all, small and large red fruit is highlighted; and then violet and vegetables; and even oriental spices such as nails carnation, vanilla, and nutmeg, accompanied by a trickle of light smoke. Impact of the sip on the tongue immediately warm, but not too much, and certainly soft and caressing without any tannic harshness. Wide and voluminous mouth, overflowing with freshness, dynamism, dryness, roundness, balance, and harmony “.
